We are pleased to announce the arrival of these yarns from Shilasdair - the Isle of Skye Company.  They are a cashmere/lambswool/angora blend and dyed using locally sourced and some imported plant dyes.  Eva (the founder of Shilasdair) is committed to excellence but does not wish to harm the environment and believes it is possible to balance the two.  The yarns use only the finest Scottish fleece and she uses natural dying techniques. 

Shilasdair is the gaelic name given to the flag Iris whish is native to Skye and is an ancient dye plant.

The nature of natural dyes is that it depends on where and when they were collected and therefore they can never be exactly replicated.  Therefore when ordering please make sure you order enough as we could not guarantee to match the shade exactly again.
